About

Kristijan Cesnak was born in 1992 and discovered his love for Greek mythology while still in high school. Watching Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief inspired him to write a similar story of his own. This led to the idea for his debut novel Ascension, an epic story inspired by Greek myths, but told through a modern voice and perspective. Over the years, the book grew alongside the author – it evolved, matured, and went through numerous versions until it reached its final form. That is why a second, expanded edition now exists.

Kristijan is a passionate reader of mythological literature, particularly inspired by the works of Robert Graves and Stephen Fry. He is currently working on the second and third installments of the trilogy, writing daily with the same enthusiasm that has guided him from the very beginning. Although the main character shares the author’s name, the rest of the story is pure fiction – but written straight from the heart.

So far, Kristijan’s first version of the novel Ascension (2012), as well as the story Otello within the short story collection Contemporary Serbian Literature (2017), have been published by the Književna omladina Srbije (Serbian Literary Youth).

My Books
What readers say

I truly enjoyed reading this novel, which can be genre-wise placed between epic and mythological fantasy. An engaging story about the struggle between Zeus and Hades for power on Olympus, and about a young man named Chris, who turns out to be the descendant of Perseus and the only one who can save the world from complete catastrophe. An exciting plot, excellent characters, and an outstanding structure of the novel! I highly recommend this work to anyone who enjoys this kind of story.
